On 1 December 2016, we will say goodbye to our 2G network. If you are using 3G/4G, your service will not be affected. If you are using 2G, your service will be affected - but don’t worry! You can still enjoy your Woolworths Mobile service by switching to 3G or 4G.

Why close the 2G network? Better coverage all-round!

Due to the better mobile experience, most other customers are already using 3G/4G technologies.

With the closure of the 2G network, 3G/4G coverage will be now stronger than ever. 4G coverage has increased from 92% to 95% and 3G coverage increased from 98.5% to 98.8% of the Australian population. Use our coverage map to check the coverage and data speeds available in your area.

If you are using 2G, you will need to upgrade to 3G/4G before 1 December 2016. You can do this by:

  • Upgrading your device if it is not 3G/4G compatible. From 9 November 2016 we will offer a range of 3G/4G compatible devices at great prices, so look out for these deals.  If you are unsure whether your device is 3G/4G compatible, we recommend you to either visit the website of the device manufacturer or review the operating manual that came with your device.
