Almost a quarter (24%) of the Mum's we spoke to said that they see the child's screen-time as a helpful tool for homework, as well as access to educational resources. But as well as understanding the benefits, parents also felt some uncertainty about what content is available online.
Pam, Mum of 2 from Sydney says "I worry about them being exposed to things that they’re not necessarily looking for. So for example when they’re on YouTube. But I also worry about if I take away that technology, then they don’t get to learn how to use it the way all the other friends are using it".
Pam is not alone - 92% of Mum's said that they would feel more comfortable with giving their kids more access to screen time if they had more information on the type of learning and educational tools for their child to access online.
