What is spam?

Spam is unsolicited messages, which can be in the form of SMS, MMS, IM or emails.

How can I reduce exposure to Spam?

To minimise the risk, do not give out your contact information unless you are confident you are in a secure environment. Before disclosing personal contact information, check the relevant Companies Privacy Policy, Collection Statements and Consent Arrangements.

If you receive unsolicited messages do not open any attachments or respond to the sender - block their details and then delete the message.

Newer phones often have the ability to display when a known or suspected spam is coming to your phone.

Reporting Spam

If you suspect you have received spam, you can report it directly to us by emailing hoax@woolworths.com.au

You can also report spam directly to the spammers’ Service Provider; if you know the name of the Provider, contact details can be obtained from their website.

You can also escalate your complaint to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) at https://www.acma.gov.au/spam-and-telemarketing or the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) at https://www.tio.com.au/ or by calling the TIO on 1800 062 058.
