Okay, so what exactly is eSIM? Glad you asked. An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to sign up to a Woolworths Mobile Prepaid, Long Expiry or SIM Only plan without the need to insert a physical SIM card into your device.
It means you can quickly activate your Woolworths Mobile Prepaid or Long Expiry plan on Australia’s trusted network†, all in the comfort of your own home. No more waiting for the Starter Pack to arrive by mail, you can now sign up to a new plan and be ready to go all in the comfort of your own home. Or train. Or Office.
To activate, once your order is complete, you will need both your eSIM compatible phone and another device connected to internet/wi-fi (i.e phone, tablet or computer). Alternatively, you will need to print out the email we send to capture the QR code as part of activation. Plus, you won’t need to use one of those tiny silver tools again. Sweet!

Check that your phone is eSIM compatible.
1. You have the latest version of the Woolworths Mobile app installed (version 7.0 or later)
2. Your phone is connected to WiFi
3. You have another device such as a phone, tablet or computer that can receive an email with your unique eSIM QR code

What is eSIM and how do I get an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a phone plan without the need to insert a physical SIM card.
If you want to sign up with eSIM:
Select your Prepaid or Long Expiry plan and add to cart. In cart, you will be able to choose between receiving a physical SIM or activating with an eSIM. Please note, signing up with eSIM is not currently available to SIM Only and Phone Plans customers. However, you can “swap” your physical SIM to eSIM via the Mobile app after you activate.
If you want to move your existing service to eSIM:
To use an eSIM with Woolworths Mobile on a compatible device, download the Woolworths Mobile app, sign in, tap the “Options” tab, then “SIM Card”, then “Change to eSIM” and follow the on screen instructions
Can I have more than one eSIM on my device?
Many devices will allow you to have multiple Mobile Plans set up on the device, but only 2 lines can be active at any one time. This is usually 2 physical SIM cards, 1 physical with 1 eSIM, or in some devices such as an iPhone 13, you can have 2 eSIM active at once.
Can I use eSIM for my smart watch?
At this time only compatible phones are supported. Keep an eye out for future announcements about eSIM for wearables.
What if I didn’t get the email with the QR code in it or I accidentally deleted the email?
If you didn’t receive the email, check your junk or spam folder. Also check that the email address on your account is correct. If you still are having trouble locating your QR code, please contact our team.
What if I lose my phone?
Once you have a new compatible device, simply download the Woolworths Mobile app, sign in, tap the Options tab, then tap SIM Card, then tap Change to eSIM and follow the on screen instructions. This will perform a “SIM swap” to a new eSIM.
Can I change back to a physical SIM card?
Yes - simply purchase a $2 SIM card from your local Woolworths store, sign into the Woolworths Mobile app, tap the Options tab, then tap Change SIM Card Number and follow the instructions on screen.
Can I activate a new or additional service with eSIM?
You can sign up to eSIM with a Prepaid or Long Expiry plan. SIM Only and Phone Plans customers will need to activate with a physical SIM card and later change to eSIM via the Mobile app. Activating with an eSIM for SIM Only and Phone Plans will be made available very soon.
